This page is for Unite for HER members only. Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative enjoys a longstanding partnership with Unite for HER, an organization dedicated to enriching the health and well-being of those diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancers by funding and delivering integrative therapies. As part of their mission, Unite for HER offers special Lancaster Farm Fresh CSA shares to their members throughout the year. 

This page is intended to provide general CSA information and important pickup details and guidelines for registered UFH members. If you are a Unite for HER member and would like more information about joining the program – please contact Michele at csa@uniteforher.org.

• May 15 – June 19

• June 26 – July 31

• August 7 – September 11

• September 18 – October 23

Your pickup day and time is dependent on your CSA pickup location. Please see your welcome email for your details.

picking up your Unite for HER CSA share

 1. Arrive at your CSA pickup site on the day of your delivery.

• • Pickup window details can be found in your welcome email and on the website.
  • Remember that site hosts are volunteers, so please arrive before the pickup window closes.
  • If you are running late, contact your host directly. Site hosts are permitted to donate, keep, or compost any shares that are left unclaimed.

 2. Check-off your name on the sign-in sheet.

• • A sign-in sheet will be delivered with the CSA shares each week. This sheet will have your name on it.
  • Place a checkmark next to your name so that the site host knows you have picked-up your share.
  • If the sign-in sheet is incorrect, please contact Michele at csa@uniteforher.org. 

3. Locate your special Unite for HER box labeled with a yellow Unite for HER sticker

• • All Unite for HER boxes are labeled with a yellow Unite for HER sticker. Only one side is labeled so check both sides if you don’t see it immediately.
  • In addition to the Unite for HER boxes, there are several other types of shares being delivered for our other members. Please ensure you are taking a UFH box.
  • Please do NOT take a box if it does not have a Unite for HER sticker on it. Email Michele at csa@uniteforher.org if you are expecting a share and did not receive one.
  • All of the items intended for you are packed inside of your box. Please do NOT take any additional items or boxes.

4. Unpack your share and break down your box

• • You can take your share home in the box it is delivered or load your items into a reusable bags.
  • If you leave your box, it is your responsibility to break it down prior to leaving.
  • Boxes left at your CSA site will be returned to the co-op for reuse.
  • Please double-check that you are leaving the site neat and tidy for your site host and other CSA members.

 Who do I contact if I have any questions?

• • Please contact your Unite for HER coordinator, Michele DiCristofaro, at csa@uniteforher.org.

 What is a swap box?

• • As a special perk for CSA members – and as inventory allows – we ship a small box called a “swap box” with a variety of produce to each site. If your share happens to contain something that you don’t care for and would like to “swap it out,” please place it in the Swap Box and pick something else that is roughly the same size.
  • The swap box will be clearly labeled. Do NOT open other boxes onsite to swap out items.
  • Please note that swap boxes are not guaranteed. While we will do our best to continue shipping swap boxes each week, inventory may limit availability.

What if I’m running late to pick-up my share?

Each CSA site host has the ability to set their own policies regarding late pickups. Please review your pickup details for further information or contact your site host directly.

What if I’m going out of town and won’t be able to pick-up my share?

If you’re planning to go away, please have a friend or family member pick it up for you. Some site hosts will donate leftover shares. Please contact them directly if you wish for them to donate it for you.

 What if someone else is picking up my box?

No need to contact us. Please provide all pickup instructions to your guest. Some site hosts also ask to be notified if someone else is picking up for you so please double-check with your site host by contacting them directly.

What if my share is missing?

• • Please do not take any boxes that don’t have a Unite for HER label. Taking a different box creates a “trickle-down” effect for the whole site, resulting in several members not receiving their correct shares.
  • If your share is not at the pickup site or is not listed on the sign-in sheet, please contact Michele csa@uniteforher.org.
  • Double-check the sign-in sheet to ensure your name is listed.
